Chelsea Clinton Serves Gluten-Free Bread at Wedding Reception
The Chelsea Clinton – Marc Mezvinsky wedding reception was catered by the St. Regis Hotel in New York with a menu of locally raised grass-fed beef (short ribs) or grilled Atlantic char, risotto, salad, and dinner rolls. All the bread served was gluten-free.1
The wedding cake was an eleven-tier chocolate cake was also gluten-free. Apparently Chelsea Clinton has a gluten allergy! The cake was created by La Tulipe Desserts in Mt. Kisco, NY with a price tag of $11,000. What does it take to make this huge gluten-free cake? 45 pounds of gluten-free flour, 360 organic eggs, 50 pounds of sugar, 30 pounds of butter and bittersweet chocolate, and about 1000 sugar flowers.2
That would have been a wedding reception I would have been able to eat dinner and the cake too! I wonder what the cost was per plate of food.

This is the most beautiful gluten free cake I’ve ever seen!
Wow how beautiful and I bet delicious. I want some!
Absolutely gorgeous and it looks so tasty! My future daughter-in-law’s wedding cake will no doubt be a gluten free cake, as well as anything on the menu. Since I have to refrain from gluten myself, I know I’ll be able to eat anything at their wedding!
